Italy in Pictures: Rome, Florence, and Venice
The cities we visited in Italy are photogenic. With an extensive history, stunning architecture, lively streets, and beautiful landscapes, there was no shortage of scenes to capture. Often times, it felt like I didn't even have to try to frame my subject well - any photo I took turned out gorgeous. So instead of just photographing the typical tourist spots, I challenged myself to try new techniques and focus on subjects I'm not used to photographing. Part of that challenge was taking advantage of the stunning scenes to capture dramatic, artistic shots. The other part of that challenge involved trying to recreate the feeling of living there - finding the day-to-day moments that defined the unique energy of each city. The photos below are the result of that challenge (with some tourist photos mixed in). All photos were shot on the Sony SLT-A65 and Google Pixel 2XL.
